The Pact: Three Young Men Make a Promise and Fulfill a Dream
Book Title: The Pact: Three Young Men Make a Promise and Fulfill a Dream
Book Description:
The guardian angel of destiny fell asleep; the right to dream was stripped away. Three Black boys faced the hardships and uncertainties of life entirely on their own.
Fortunately, they had their promise to one another, alongside the love and support of those around them. With the help of community resources, their dreams finally set sail...
The three children in this book all had severe fractures in their upbringing, each facing their own existential predicaments. For them, a resilient and mutually supportive friendship became the ultimate antidote against the temptations and corruption of street life. This friendship led them to swear a pact to support and encourage each other until they overcame the impossible—becoming doctors.
The book chronicles the struggles they endured while striving to keep their vow—a promise that not only transformed their lives but also led them to a level of success they once found unimaginable.
The success of these three doctors proves that young people can unlock their own potential and that of others, rather than dragging one another down.
As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said: when we stand on the solid rock of solidarity, anything is possible.
Today, they serve as community leaders, helping children in their hometowns overcome obstacles to receive an education, and encouraging everyone to courageously pursue their dreams!
