An Advocate for the Health and Well-being of Children

  • Led Taiwan back into the international academic arena, including the International Pediatric Association (IPA).

  • Upheld the philosophy that "children are not miniature adults" and spent thirty years bringing the NTU Children's Hospital to fruition.

  • Founded Taiwan's first medical foundation, the Pediatric Cardiovascular Charitable Foundation, providing financial support for underprivileged children to receive treatment and giving thousands of children a new lease on life.

  • Actively promoted heart screenings for students, which marked the earliest child screening initiative in Taiwan, benefiting over two million student check-ups.

  • Tracked the disproportionately high child mortality rate in Taiwan while formulating comprehensive strategies to address the declining birthrate.

Dr. Hung-Chi Lue was honored with the inaugural Taiwan Medical Exemplary Award in 2008 and the Lifetime Achievement Award for Contributions to Taiwan's Child Medical Care in 2009. He has always stood on the front lines—saving lives, protecting children, and never slowing down.
