With the original aspiration to uncover genuine touching moments from the medical frontlines and drive a cycle of goodwill, the association initiated the "Doctor-Patient 'Heart' Voices · 'New' Voices" essay competition. By inviting both physicians and patients to share their mental journeys and touching stories of interaction, we aim to inject a warm current into tense doctor-patient relationships.

This book features twenty-four award-winning essays selected across four major themes: "Doctor-Patient Relationships," "When Medical Staff Become Patients," "Hospice, Dignified Death, and the Patient Autonomy Act," and "The Beginning of Medicine: A Medical Student's Journey of Growth." Following each article, comic strips illustrate highlights from the stories, accompanied by relevant Q&As regarding medical communication or knowledge featured in the narrative. We hope these stories serve as a bridge to convey the truth, goodness, and beauty of doctor-patient interactions, closing the distance between one another and filling the current gap in information regarding doctor-patient communication.
