Synopsis: The most difficult dilemma—just as I fall in love with a girl, a boy falls in love with me? The unforgettable coming-of-age youth film for a whole generation in Taiwan, marking the screen debuts of Gwei Lun-mei and Chen Bo-lin.

Plot Summary: Meng Ke-rou and Lin Yue-zhen are classmates at the same high school and share a bond like sisters, talking about everything. One day, Yue-zhen confesses to Ke-rou that she has a crush on Zhang Shi-hao, a star swimmer on the school team, and begs Ke-rou to confess to him on her behalf. Unable to refuse Yue-zhen's pleas, Ke-rou approaches Shi-hao, but Yue-zhen runs away in shyness. As a result, Shi-hao mistakenly believes that Ke-rou is the one who likes him and used a friend as an excuse just to get to know him. Shi-hao is a lively, cheerful, and innocent boy full of sunshine. Though his personality is completely different from Ke-rou's, he is deeply attracted to her. Everyone assumes they are a couple, but Ke-rou firmly denies it. Yue-zhen grows resentful over the development between them and stops speaking to Ke-rou. This causes an inexplicable turmoil in Ke-rou's heart. After much soul-searching and testing, she finally confirms her own sexual orientation and understands why she never had romantic feelings for Shi-hao. Terrified by this realization, Ke-rou unexpectedly confides her secret to Shi-hao. From then on, they are no longer just friends, but are caught in a lingering, push-and-pull relationship. After being entangled for so long, they grow weary and make a pact to meet again in the future, right in front of a blue gate.
