Course Reserved Information
To support faculty in utilizing library resources effectively and to enhance student learning outcomes, instructors can specify course-related books (including e-books) as mandatory reading list items or reference materials during the course term. The guidelines and service details are outlined below:
【 I. Reserve Types 】
- Designated Textbooks: Restricted to a maximum of 1 to 2 volumes per course, designated strictly for in-library reading within the Course Reserve Area.
- Designated Reference Books: No volume limitations per course; materials are similarly restricted for in-library reading within the designated area only.
【 II. Request Methods 】
- Online Request Portal: Instructors can submit digital applications directly via the automated web form available on the Library website. Online Request Form Portal
- Paper-Based Request: If the request involves a larger volume of titles, faculty members can download the reserve spreadsheet, fill out the required text fields, and email the list directly to the library representative. Download Course Reserve Form (ODS Format)

【 III. Library Fulfillment Workflow 】

- Term Reminders: At the end of each academic semester and prior to the start of the next, the library will actively send notice alerts reminding faculty to submit required course reserve information for the upcoming semester.
- Catalog Inventory Lookups: Before creating your request list, you may access the automated search console to review catalog statuses and acquisition metrics. Library Catalog Search System (WebPAC) Entrance
- Data Auditing and Verification:
- Upon receiving an application form, the library will verify item data, check system catalog status, and initiate physical stack search or recall services for checked-out items.
- If designated titles are missing from library assets upon review, they will be processed into the general acquisition purchasing queue for the following fiscal year.
- Dedicated Special Exhibition:
- Approved reserve items will be cataloged and organized onto the physical shelves of the Course Reserve Area on the Library 3rd Floor for easy student retrieval.
- All items allocated to this shelf are strictly for in-library reading; circulation check-out services outside the building are not provided.
- Completion Notification: Once database fulfillment and physical placement are set, the library will notify the requesting faculty member via email. Students can then index these items through the system catalog.
【 IV. How to Query Course Reserves 】
- Step 1: Access the library catalog query framework and switch over to the "Professor Course Reserves" search page. Course Reserves Online Search Entry

- Periodic Inventory Updates: The library systematically evaluates active reserve lists at the end of each semester, refreshing or removing titles according to syllabus shifts or instructor instructions.
